Baldomero Alejos is recognized as one of the great Peruvian photographers of the last century due to the great artistic quality of his work. An artist who knew how to combine art and science with excellence, the harmony of lights, shadows, inspiration and beauty.

The key to Baldomero’s great work is that he always sought excellence in each phase of the photographic process. To take the photographs, handled natural light very skillfully, balancing contrasts (gray scale) and proper management of composition and framing. Then, it continued with fine post-production work, which included the correct development of negatives, the masterful and manual retouching of the images, and the final printing on paper.

Although his work has a french influence, due to his year as Diego Goyzueta’s  assistant, he managed to develop his own style, which adapted to the environment and the characters he photographed. During 50 years of constant and methodical work, he was the preferred photographer of Ayacucho society. Without the intention of recognition, but rather a genuine search for beauty, destiny would be in charge of rewarding his talent.
